Successful Spacewalk by Canadian Astronaut
Joshua Kutryk, an astronaut with the Canadian Space Agency, was captured in a photograph during a spacewalk on October 29, 2026. At that moment, the International Space Station (ISS) was orbiting approximately 267 miles above the South Atlantic Ocean.
Installation of New Solar Array
During this outing, Kutryk, alongside NASA astronaut Anil Menon, successfully installed a new roll-out solar array on the ISS. In addition to this primary task, the duo also conducted preparatory work for an upcoming spacewalk scheduled for November 5, 2026.
Enhancing Power Capacity
The forthcoming spacewalk will focus on the installation of the eighth and final roll-out solar array. Once completed, these eight arrays are expected to boost the space station’s power availability by as much as 30 percent.
