UNCG Prepares for Fall Commencement Events
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is set to celebrate its Fall Commencement season, inviting the community to participate in the festivities alongside this year’s graduating class. The ceremonies will take place on December 10 and 11, 2023, marking a significant milestone for students and their families.
Details of the Ceremonies
The Doctoral Hooding Ceremony is scheduled for December 10 at 10 a.m. in the UNCG Auditorium, with volunteers expected to arrive by 8 a.m. to assist with the event. This ceremony honors the achievements of doctoral candidates as they receive their hoods, a traditional symbol of academic accomplishment.
The following day, December 11, will feature the University Commencement Ceremony for undergraduate and master’s degree students at 10 a.m. This event will be held at First Horizon Coliseum, where volunteers are also required to report by 8 a.m. to ensure a smooth and successful ceremony.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play a crucial role in both events, contributing significantly to their overall success each semester. Those interested in helping out can sign up for either the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony or the University Commencement Ceremony. The participation of volunteers enhances the experience for graduates and their guests, making the occasion memorable for all involved.
