Legal Action Against Nuisance Activities
Chapter 19 of the North Carolina General Statutes outlines nuisance activities and establishes civil solutions aimed at eradicating persistent criminal actions while enhancing community safety. In an effort to leverage these legal provisions, a partnership between local officials, the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), and the Nuisance Abatement Team from the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) has led to a significant legal measure.
Court Injunction Issued
As a result of their collaborative efforts, a court has issued a preliminary injunction against a residence in Powells Point. This action comes after years of ongoing nuisance activities associated with the location, demonstrating the commitment of local authorities to address such issues and restore order in the community.
